Day 21 _ ONE resolution

 

Here’s another meditation video for motivation.  I like this one, especially the beginning where he talks about seeing just beyond your closed eyelids.  What do you see? I see swirling shapes of color. I really struggled to visualize the pinpoint of light, though.

I still like one of the previous videos much better.

Day 20 ~ ONE resolution

 

Hi there. Well, I am really excited to share today’s meditation with you. I am also really quite surprised by my reaction to it. I must have really connected with it for some reason because within moments of the actual song beginning, tears began to stream down my face!  WOW, right? 

Now, this video might not affect you the same way. I’m sure we each connect differently to different experiences depending on where we are in our lives. But, this one…really got to me…in a very good way.

Days 16, 17, 18, 19. Getting back on track.

 

WOOOO WOOOOO! Gotta get this caboose moving in the right direction again. I haven’t posted in a few days, but I did meditate…once during that time…and again this morning.

I don’t even remember which one I listened to the other day…but it didn’t really “ring my bell” or “toot my horn,” for that matter!

Today’s video was the impetus for a lot of discussion between my Mom and me. I don’t want to mention our thoughts on it yet because I don’t want to sway your opinion of it. So, tell me what you think. I really want to share our impressions and see if they match yours.

Hi there! Today’s meditation was a long one…in fact…I was so tired from not sleeping much last night that I fell asleep before it ended. I did feel rested…almost spacey when I woke up. What do you think of this one?

Day 14 ~ ONE resolution

 

YAY! I did my meditation today! Whoop woop!  What’s all the cheering about? Well, I went to bed with a migraine, woke up with a worse migraine, but I did do my meditation this morning and went for a walk afterwards. Thanks to my Mom’s strong coffee, I’m feeling much better. She came by with that and some aspirin, so we listened to the meditation together. It was nice to experience it together and then talk about it afterwards.

We really liked this one. Let me know what you think. Did anything about it bother you or seem difficult? Did you find any parts more helpful? Let me know on Facebook since the comments don’t always come through here for some reason. Anyone else have that problem?

Days 12 and 13


Grrrrrr! I just realized I forgot to post yesterday. *sigh* This doesn’t come easy for me, can you tell?
hahaha…I did try, though. I went to watch a meditation video, it wasn’t loading. SO, I restarted my computer…and forgot to come back!
Anyway, I did do my meditation this morning. Here’s the one I picked. It’s for motivation. Now, I’m so motivated, I’m going for a walk and then getting some household chores done before heading into the studio to work on some book illustrations.

Days 10 and 11 ~ ONE resolution

 

So, I goofed. I missed yesterday’s meditation altogether. So, today I figured I’d find a longer one to make up for it. Winking smile

 

I have gotten some wonderful feedback both here and on Facebook regarding this inner journey. It makes me happy to know I am connecting with others in some way. I’d love to hear from you if you have thoughts about these meditation videos. Are you giving it a try? Is it difficult for you? I think a common concern is the constant barrage of thoughts that come to mind when we are trying to clear our minds. Is that happening to you, too?

One of my hurdles is that I am not a regimented person in the least bit. I really go with the flow…and it tends to send me adrift very frequently. This has its advantages. I am flexible and adaptable. But, sticking with a routine would help me to accomplish more and focus my energy so that I can choose my direction.

Yesterday was a reminder of where I’m coming from. Today, I’m recognizing it. Tomorrow, I plan to choose my direction very deliberately. .

Do you tend to be like me? Or, are you the opposite? Either way, I think the meditations can help us to find common ground. Don’t you?

Again, I’m late…but better late than never, right? Actually, I think this meditation worked too well! I listened to it prior to posting and ….well, I fell asleep!

I like this one as it is guided and I found the voice and content soothing. It did help me to let things go.

Day 7–( just in the nick of time) –ONE resolution


     Here I go again, sliding in here at the last minute…actually I have about half an hour before the clock strikes midnight. So, of course, the theme of this meditation will be another which says it is for Deep sleep and healing.
     I actually just got done listening to this one on my phone as I relaxed on the couch until the battery went dead. I’m not ready for bed yet. Too much left to do around here. But, I think this would be very soothing when I am ready to hit the hay.

Day 6 _ ONE resolution

 

Good afternoon! Today I found a video said to be for the afternoon…so, I hope it helps you…and me…gain a little boost to enjoy the rest of this day fully.

As I listened to this one with my eyes closed I began to see a display of colors gently swirling into and out of view. As she talked about the heart and emerald green…I actually saw shades of green forming. Then it changed to blue on cue but in a smaller, more contained oval. I didn’t see purple right away..but when I finally did, it was very vivid! Isn’t that just WILD?  I guess I have a good imagination! haha

Did you experience anything like that?

Oopsie! Day 4 of my ONE resolution

…and I almost missed it!

I woke up with a horrible cough...and an ailing doggy. So, my morning was a bit of an obstacle course. Then I ran errands all day and only now realized at nearly 9 p.m. that I didn’t do my daily meditation.

This might work out to be a good experiment, though. I have chosen a meditation for restful sleep and healing. Sounds like a good idea right about now! Nighty niiiiiight!

Day 3–One Resolution

So, what did you think?

My main problem is (toward the end of the video) imagining myself focusing on ONE idea….ironic isn’t it? The “one” part. Hmmm…Maybe I CAN do it. I guess I already am, concerning my resolution! Yay. It IS possible. Now, to apply that to my art and home! 

I like the idea of using the imagination for good and recognizing that worrying is an inappropriate use.

Have you struggled with worry? Do you think you can shift that use of your imagination?

How about feeling scattered? Do you struggle with that?

One Resolution, Day 2

Good morning! Here’s our meditation for the day.

     I’m still hoping to work toward a regular schedule for these. However, my schedule is currently in flux. Part of this is due to the fact that Dear Hubby has another vacation day.

     This means I’m not alone. It also means I had to be brave because I figured he would tease me about this. You see, he’s kind of like a big, grumpy bear. He’s rough on the outside, but with enough cajoling…I am wondering if I can actually get HIM to meditate! So, I took a deep breath, turned down the volume on his Zombie marathon, and asked him if I could just listen to my video for a few minutes without interruption. HAH! I had a captive audience. Our heater hasn’t kicked on yet, so he was bound by his warm spot on the couch!

     It was hard for me to focus at times. I kept wondering what he was thinking. I peeped an eye open to see that he was fiddling with his phone. That’s Okay. At least he was there and afterward I was able to say, “See, that wasn’t so bad, was it?”

     I offered up the idea that he could really benefit from it, too. It might help his blood pressure. I told him that it has been scientifically proven to do so. (Of course, I may have to prove that in writing.) So, I suggested he try it before work every day. He flat out refused. Then I suggested we just listen together on weekends. He still refused…but with less vigor.

     So, there you have it. A challenge within a challenge for me. Follow along to see if I can get my surly, burly man to join us on this inner journey!

     (By the way, I never really was able to feel or hear my heartbeat. Could you?)

The Journey…Step ONE.


     On this very first day, of this wonderful new year, my plan was to go on a hike up the local mountain with a group of people to watch the sun rise and begin the journey into 2015 on the right foot.
     I wondered how I would fit the meditation into my plan. I know it takes me a lot longer than everyone else to make the trip up to the summit and back. Trying to wake up early enough to do it before the hike was…well…out of the question! haha
     As it turns out, I didn’t have to make that decision, but am still learning that this ONE resolution is not going to be easy. Life happens. Distractions happen.  Tonsillitis happens. So, no hike for me today.
     You’d think that staying home with a sore throat would have made it easier to start this meditation thing.  However, I slept in and when I got up, Dear Hubby was already happily switching back and forth between marathons of Twilight Zone and Walking Dead. Hmph. Onward to find a different location.
     So, I came to the computer room. Found this video about the basics of meditation and later I will add another video to begin the process. Check back if you can.
